Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease power consumption and to lower manufacturing cost, by forming a closed magnetic loop by first and third yokes and an armature during excitation of a coil and removing the second yoke and a permanent magnet enabling other components to be used in common also for an AC operating electromagnet device. CONSTITUTION:Current is supplied to a coil 1 such that magnetic fluxes flow in the direction opposite to that of magnetic flux in a path PHI1 flowing across a gap G2 of an armature 2, whereby the magnetic fluxes flow along a path PHI2. By one of the fluxes in the path PHI2, magnetic flux of the coil 1 and magnetic flux of a permanent magnetic 5 are cancelled with each other in the gap G2, and the other magnetic flux in the path PHI2 is overlapped with the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 5 in a gap G3. As a result, the armature 2 is moved to the left hand in the figure and closes the gaps G1 and G2 and a close magnetic loop is formed without passing the permanent magnet 5. Further, by removing a second yoke 4 and the permanent magnet 5, other components may be used in common in an AC operating electromagnetic device. Thus, common use of components can be realized.
