The spacer 11 is so gas-sealed at its lead 8 that gases of a gas-insulated transformer 7 and the but 5 do not communicate with one another. The inner gas pressures are so set that the side of the transformer 7 is high and the recess of the spacer 11 is disposed at the transformer 7. Then, no breakdown occurs at the transformer 7 of the recess having low insulating strength. Thus, a gas insulated electric device having the spacer 11 with strong mechanical strength is obtained.
