CONSTITUTION:In the head base driver of a tape recorder, the cam 33 is coaxially fixed to the rotating shaft 44 of the flat motor having plural plane coils 46-1-46-5 formed on a substrate 27 as the stator and the multielectrode magnetized magnet 42 as the rotor so as to integrally rotate, the driving pin 59 of a head base 58 is engaged with a groove wall formed in the upper face of the cam 33, the rotating angle detector 56 of the cam 33 and a motor driver 57 are provided, thereby, the head base 58 is directly driven with the free linear movement of one direction according to the rotation of the flat motor. The head base 58 having the driving pin 59 abutting against the groove 57 formed on the upper face of the cam 33 is vertically moved corresponding to the travel mode of a tape to require no reduction gear etc.
