Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable high-contrast display by forming scanning electrodes of zigzag patterns and signal electrodes of straight patterns which are alternately and repeatedly connected with rectangular patterns and conductor patterns connecting the angle parts of the rectangular patterns to each other. CONSTITUTION:The scanning electrodes 13 are formed of the zigzag patterns 131-138. The signal electrodes 14 are formed of the straight patterns 141-1415 which alternately connect the rhombic patterns 4a and the bar-shaped patterns 4b. The individual picture elements of the display image lighted and displayed by impressing prescribed driving voltages in a time-sharing manner between the electrodes 13 and the electrodes 14 constitute rhombic shapes so that the image screens intersected alternately in vertical and horizontal directions are constituted. The high-contrast display is thus obtd.
