Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce transmitting quantity and to shorten a transmission required time, by selecting only data altered in a PLU file to transmit the same when the inspection command from a host computer is received. CONSTITUTION:An in-line system 1 is constituted by connecting a large number of electronic charge scales to a host computer (HC) 2 and, when the HC 2 transmits an inspection command, one of the charge scales 4 is specified at first to check the status thereof. When the processing of the inspection command is possible, a READY text is prepared to be transmitted. Next, the PLU file wherein an alteration flag is set is searched and, when there is said file, a data text is prepared to be transmitted and the alteration flag in the transmitted PLU file is reset. By performing the routine from the searching of the alteration flag to the resetting thereof in succession with respect to all of the charge scales 4 until the PLU files each having the alteration flag set thereto are lost, the PLU rewriting on the side of the HC 2 can be performed within a short time.
