Abstract

PURPOSE:To sufficiently relieve the impact force applied to the body, by forming the shaft part of a stick so as to divide the same up and down at the intermediate part thereof and interposing a buffer member composed of a rubber material between the outer peripheral surface of one divided end part and the inner peripheral surface of the other divided end surface permitting the insertion of said divided end part. CONSTITUTION:The shaft part 2 of a stick 1 is formed so as to be divided up and down and an iron shaft end part 8 having the same diameter as the shaft part 2 is provided to the upper divided end edge 2a and a buffer member 10 composed of a cylindrical rubber material is interposed between the outer peripheral surface 8a of the shaft end part 8 and the inner peripheral surface 9a of an outer cylindrical end part 9. When the load due to the body wt. of a disabled person in a compressing direction is applied to the shaft part 2 through a grip part 6 during walking, force is relatively applied to the shaft end part 8 and the outer cylindrical end part 9 up and down in the same direction and the force in a shearing direction (direction shown by an arrow) acts on the buffer member 10. Therefore, said buffer member 10 effectively absorbs the force in the shearing direction. As a result, the load from an arm 3 to the body is reduced and the trouble to an elbow due to long-time use is prevented.
