Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled treatment agent containing a specific cysteine derivative and a cationic polymer, having a specific pH range and capable of forming a semipermanent wave to hair by heating the hair coated with the agent and of semipermanently improving the feeling of the hair. CONSTITUTION:The hair-treatment agent contains (A) a cysteine derivative selected from the compounds of formula (R1 is H or 1-3C acyl), e.g. N-acetyl-3- mercaptoalanine and glutathione and (B) a cationic polymer such as quaternary derivative of cellulose ester, copolymer of vinyl pyrrolidone or polylysine and is adjusted to pH 7-9. The amounts of the components A and B are 0.1-5.0wt.% and 0.01-30.0wt.% especially 0.5-3.0wt.% and 0.1-10.0wt.%, respectively. 10-150ml of the agent is applied to the hair at a time and the hair is heated at 40-160 deg.C, preferably 40-80 deg.C.
