Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a wet type EP (electric precipitator) and prevent gypsum from attaching to an eliminator, by making a corrugated-type element serve as a cooling surface and providing a spray device at an inlet part in the eliminator installed in the downstream side of an absorption tower. CONSTITUTION:In an eliminator 4, a plurality of cooling elements 14 comprising two corrugated plates are disposed spaced vertically from each other. Each space between adjacent cooling elements 14 constitutes a flue gas passage. Cooling water is passed through the cooling water passages of the elements 14, which are connected to a cooling water pipe 13. Further, a condensed water recovery tank 18 is connected to the eliminator 4, while part of condensed water is supplied to a spray device 20 installed at an inlet of the eliminator 4 by means of a condensed water pump 19. In this way, dust and condensed water as well can be efficiently captured, making it possible to omit a wet type EP. Furthermore, sufficient quantity of water can be sprayed, causing gypsum attached to the elements 14 to be completely removed.
