Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the next process of utilizing a precipitate by allowing the air to be inhaled into and to pass through the precipitate so as to further dewater it, while the precipitate in a precipitation tank is drained with more than one rotating scoopers. CONSTITUTION:Sands E precipitated in a precipitation tank K and water are scooped with every rotating scooper 2 and held by a draining net 2a while a large quantity of water is stored up in the scooper 2. Then, the stored water flows out of the rear end 2b of the scooper 2 and the sands E is drained and separated from the water during an ascending rotation of the scooper 2. At the same time, air is inhaled into the scooper 2 from the opening head of the scooper 2 through voids of the sands E, because the pressure inside the scooper 2 is reduced as the water level in the scooper 2 descends. A dewatering of the sand E is accordingly carried out by the air sweeping the remaining water between the sand particles E.
