Abstract
PURPOSE:To notice the staining of original platen glass by detecting the staining of the original platen glass as variation in transmissivity and comparing it with a constant reference level by a comparing means. CONSTITUTION:A comparing circuit 30 which detects the staining of the original platen glass from the detection output of a photodetecting element 13 amplifies the output of the photodetecting element 13 by an amplifier 31 and compares it with the reference voltage Vr by a comparator 32 to output a detection signal Sr from the comparator 32 when the quantity of photodetection of the photodetecting element 13 is smaller than the constant reference level. This comparing circuit 30 is provided with the photodetecting element 13 and the detection signal Sr of the comparator 32 of each comparing circuit 30 is detected as a stain detection signal by being passed through a gate circuit which is open only when a light emission body 12 reaches the position of the photodetecting element 13, thereby generating a warning. Consequently, the staining of the original platen glass is known.
