Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the crack of nonoxide ceramics and to securely join the ceramics and metal by disposing the ceramics via a brazing filler metal on one face of the metal and disposing a specific stress relief material via the brazing filler metal on the other face, then heating and brazing the metal and the ceramics. CONSTITUTION:The nonoxide ceramics 1 essentially consisting of Si3N4, TiN, etc., is disposed via the preferably heat resisting brazing filler metal such as Ni solder, Cu solder or Ag-Mn solder on one face (e.g.; lower side) of the metal 2 such as Fe-Ni-Co system alloy, Cu, Ti, Al, Fe, or Nb. The stress relief material (e.g.: the same material as the above-mentioned nonoxide ceramics 1) 3 consisting of oxide or nonoxide ceramics having the coefft. of linear expansion approximate to the coefft. of linear expansion of the nonoxide ceramics 1 is disposed via the above-mentioned brazing filler metal on the other face (e.g.: upper side); thereafter, these materials are heated in a vacuum or inert gaseous atmosphere in a furnace (e.g.: about 10min at about 1,000 deg.C if the brazing filler metal is an Ni brazing filler metal), by which the ceramics and the metal are joined.
