Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent recording quality from being deteriorated, by a method wherein an atmospheric current near a surface where ink discharge of a recording head is provided is stirred accompanying transfer, and a discharge direction and a discharge speed of ink and a particle size of an ink drop are stabilized by preventing the discharge surface from dewing as far as possible. CONSTITUTION:An appropriate member is arranged near a recording head 20 and when a carriage 16 travels, at atmospheric current near a discharge surface 20A is stirred with said member. Then, the discharge surface 20A is made difficult to be dewed. that is, an atmospheric current stirring member 92 having a plate formed part which projects to a platen side at least more far than the discharge surface 20A may be established to both sides of the recording head on the carriage 16. Since unequal moistening on the discharge surface 20A does not occur thereby, a discharge direction, a discharge speed, and a particle size of an ink drop from a discharge port are stabilized, and an image recording of high quality becomes possible. Further, sticking of dust, paper, power, etc., liable to be generated when the discharge surface 20A is dewed to be moistened, can be also prevented.
