チユエータと、変速機の変速段を切換えるアクチ
ユエータと、設定車速で定速走行を行わせるため
の定速走行セツト手段とを有し、上記定速走行セ
ツト手段による定速走行セツト時に設定車速を維
持するように上記各アクチユエータを制御する自
動車の定速走行制御装置であつて、通常運転時に
おける定速走行セツト時には所定時間の間、変速
段のシフトダウンを禁止する一方、高負荷運転時
における定速走行セツト時には変速段を直ちにシ
フトダウンさせもしくはシフトアツプを阻止する
制御手段が設けられていることを特徴とする自動
