Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize scattering of bonding strength among each connecting body and enhance reliability of product, by using silicon nitride ceramic containing Al2O3 and Y2O3 as sintering aid in bonding silicon nitride ceramics and metal with brazing material through an intermediate buffer. CONSTITUTION:Silicon nitride ceramics matrix 1 containing aluminum oxide and 2-5mol.% yttrium oxide as sintering aids is produced. Then the aimed bonding body of silicon nitride ceramics with metal is obtained by bonding the resultant matrix 1, intermediate buffer 3 (e.g. copper plate) and metal matrix 2 (e.g. stainless plate) using brazing material 4a (e.g. Ti foil) and 4b (e.g. BAg-8).
