Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an artificial organ from being destroyed even when a sterile temperature is raised to a heat-resistant temperature, by adjusting the pressure in an autoclave so as to maintain the difference between the pressure in the artificial organ and that in the autoclave small. CONSTITUTION:An artificial organ 2 is set in an autoclave 1. The autoclave 1 includes a heater 3, a high-temperature reservoir 4, a discharge valve 5. A sterile solution tank 6 and a cooler 7 are provided outside the autoclave 1. The pressure of the artificial organ 2 is measured via the pressure of the sterile solution tank 6 by a manometer 16, and the pressure of the autoclave 1 is measured by another manometer 21. An automatic controller 20 controls valves 10 and 17 so as to maintain the difference of both the pressures within a certain value.
