Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the abrasion of magnetic heads and a recording medium in simple constitution by supporting the magnetic heads to a rotary base by means of a movable supporting bodies and abutting or separating the magnetic heads against or from the recording medium by way of abutting a protrusion provided on a moving base against these supporting bodies. CONSTITUTION:The following are provided for constitution that plural magnetic head supporting bodies 13-16 for supporting the plural magnetic heads 1-4 fitted on the rotary base 9 and moving them vertically against a rotary surface of the head rotary base 9, and the protrusion part 17 for driving the magnetic heads by abutting against one part of the supporting bodies. Then, the magnetic heads 1-4 are supported on the rotary base 9 by the movable supporting bodies 13-16, and these magnetic heads should not be allowed to contact with the recording medium during a period of time of no relation to the recording and reproducing, whereas the protrusion part 17 should come into contact with these supporting bodies to drive the magnetic heads to be supported so as to contact with the medium during a period of time relative to the recording and reproducing. By this method, the lives of the medium and the magnetic heads under abrasion can thus be improved with a simple structure.
