Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a higher accuracy in testing fatigue with the absorption of a center deviation of a testpiece during the compression, by screwing a screw body down on the bottom of an intermediate holder aligned them in axis thereof to make the screw body engage the head of the testpiece through a centering mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A button head type testpiece 1 is housed into a receiving member 2 divided in plurality and a powder cushion 3 is interposed between a head 1a and a hole 2a of the member 2. A screw body 8 is screwed down on the bottom of an intermediate holder 4 aligning them in axis to make a conical protrusion 9 engage a center hole 10 of the testpiece 1. Then, the screw body 8 is tightened gently to link one pair of upper and lower main holders 6 to a load generating part of a testing section so that a tension load is applied to fluidize or coagulate the cushion 3 to absorb a center deviation during the pulling and further tightened to force a protrusion 9 into the hole 10 so that a compression load is applied to absorb a center deviation during the compression with a centering action of the piece 1, thereby enabling highly accurate fatigue test.
