Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent drivability from fluctuating due to overcorrection in little exhaust gas recirculation range by setting up one of the two, at least, proportional correction and integral correction applied to proportional-plus-integral control, variably in proportion to aimed exhaust gas recirculation quantity. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 5 sets up aimed exhaust gas recirculation quantity according to operating parameters and controls opening of an EGR valve 22 in proportion and integration with a negative pressure responding device 23 through taking in signals of throttle opening, absolute pressure in an intake pipe, intake air temperature, water temperature, engine speed, O2 density and EGR valve lift from sensors 4, 7-10, 13, 28. One of the two, at least, proportional correction and integral correction applied to proportional-plus-integral control, is set up here variably in proportion to aimed exhaust gas recirculation quantity and thereby are prevented overshoot on controlling in little exhaust gas recirculation range, delay on response in much exhaust gas recirculation range and so on. In such wise, compatibility of reducing Nox with preventing fluctuation in drivability can be intended.
