Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent accelerator performance by controlling the magnitude of positive torque depending on the variable speed and variation of throttle opening when acceleration performance is improved by applying positive torque to the output shaft of an engine by use of an electric drive means at the time of acceleration. CONSTITUTION:Torque is applied to the output shaft 3 of an engine depending on torque fluctuation thereof by means of an electric drive means consisting of a rotation field pole 5, a field coil 6 and a stator coil 7 so as to restrain torque from being fluctuated. And positive torque is applied by a control unit 21 at the time of acceleration so as to lean an air-fuel ratio tentatively for eliminating the delay in increase and slow-down of rotation speeds. In this case, the aforesaid positive torque is controlled depending on the variable speed and variation of throttle opening detected by a detecting means 29 by the control unit 21 via an inverter 23 and the electric drive means 5-7 so as to maintain acceleration performance even when acceleration is quickly made and the variation of a throttle is great while an increase in electric demand caused by positive torque increased more than necessary is being avoided. This constitution thereby enables excellent acceleration performance to be obtained at all time.
