Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an injection-moldable thermoplastic polymer composition having high strength and high specific gravity and suitable for flywheel, etc., as a metal-substitute molding material, by compounding a thermoplastic polymer with iron powder and inorganic powder composed mainly of alumina. CONSTITUTION:The objective thermoplastic polymer composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polymer (preferably polyamide, polyester, etc.) with (B) 100-800pts.wt. of iron powder having particle diameter of 50-200mum (eg. reduced iron powder or atomized iron powder) and (C) 10-150pts.wt., preferably 20-100pts.wt. of an inorganic powder composed mainly to alumina and having particle diameter of preferably <=8mum (the components other than alumina are zirconium oxide, silicon oxide, ferric oxide, etc.).
