Abstract
PURPOSE:To control organisms harmful to plants by excellent seed disinfection effects especially on bacterial grain rot of rice plant, by simply disinfecting plant seeds with an aqueous solution of a composition consisting of a specific alkylbenzenesulfonate and an acid. CONSTITUTION:Plant seeds are immersed in an aqueous solution of a composition obtained by blending at least one alkylbenzenesulfonate shown by formula I (R is 8-20C alkyl; M is organic salt or inorganic salt) such as inorganic salt or organic salt such as Na, K, Ca, monoethanolamine or morpholine of straight-chain or branched dodecylbenzenefulonic acid shown by formula II with at least one of organic acids such as acetic acid (including vinegar) and inorganic acids such as phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid in the weight ratio of the former and the latter of 1:0.01 diluted 100-5,000 times for 1-72hr and brought into contact with the aqueous solution by sprinkling or spraying to control organisms harmful to plants such as Gibberella fujikuroi or Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans.
