Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled derivative useful as an agent for alleviating malignant tumors, an antiviral agent and an intermediate thereof, by esterifying a specific fluorouridine derivative with an amino acid and eliminating the protecting group. CONSTITUTION:(A) A 5'-deoxy-5'-halo-5-fluorouridine having protected saccharide part is esterified with (B) an N-substituted amino acid, then the protecting group of the saccharide part is eliminated and optionally the amino acid-N- substituent group is eliminated to give the aimed derivative [e.g. 5'-0-(N- benzyloxycarbonylvalyl)-5-fluorouridine] shown by the formula (A is N- substituted-aminoacyl group or aminoacyl group).
