Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the title clarifier which makes it possible to manufacture a transparent soap having very excellent transparency according to the milling process, and which comprises a starch. CONSTITUTION:A clarifier for a transparent soap comprising a starch. The starch may be any one selected from corn starch, potato starch, sweet potato starch, wheat starch, tapioca starch, etc.; one processed or crosslinked by oxidation, a dialdehyde, acetic acid, a cation, and anion or a nonion; or an ester or ether obtd. from the aforesaid starch and other compd. Further, the starch may be dextrin or cyclodextrin derived from the aforesaid starch. The clarifier is generally incorporated in a soap compsn. in an amt. of about 1-15wt.%. In the use of the clarifier, it is pref. to mix the above-mentioned starch with a customary clarifier, such as sugar, glycerin or sorbitol. The drawback of the conventional milling process that the transparency of the transparent soap is poor has been overcome by the present clarifier, and there can be obtained a transparent soap product having extremely excellent transparency.
