Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the anti-load quality and the anti-wear quality of overlay by making the overlay layer of a sliding bearing a multi-layer structure of a soft quality layer having lead as the principal ingredient and a hard quality layer having a harder metal than lead as the principal ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An overlay layer 3 is made to be a multi-layer structure of a layer having lead as the principal ingredient as previously and a metal layer harder than lead. The overall thickness of the overlay layer 3 is about 20-30mum which is the same thickness as that of a prior overlay layer and serve the purpose, and there is no need of specially limiting the thickness of one layer which is sufficiently selected by considering the composition of each layer. The purpose of a soft quality layer is to improve the quality of imbedding a foreign object and the quality of adaptability to a shaft, and a hard quality layer is a metal layer harder than the soft quality layer, and especially, consists of a metal or an alloy which can maintain high temperature and hardness at the temperature rising time of a bearing. As a result, the anti-load quality and the anti-wear quality of overlay can be improved.
