Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily perform alignment, by providing a means for detecting the diameter of the pupil of an eye to be examined at the time of imaging and selecting a beam limiting means suitable for the diameter of the pupil to insert the same in an illumination optical system and widening an alignment tolerant range. CONSTITUTION:The positioning of beam blocking members 26a, 26b in the moving direction thereof is performed by a movement limit member and the riving of a solenoid 27 is performed by a control circuit 25 and, when an operation circuit 24 judges that the diameter of the pupil of an eye E to be examined is larger than a predetermined value, the beam blocking member 26a is inserted in an illumination beam path and, when said circuit 24 judges that said diameter of the pupil is smaller than the predetermined value, the beam blocking member 26b is inserted in said beam path. By the above-mentioned constitution, by detecting the diameter of the pupil of the eye E to be examined beforehand when an eyeground photograph is taken, operation for selecting either one of the beam blocking members 26a, 26b in the illumination beam path corresponding to the size of the diameter of the pupil can be performed. By selecting a beam limit means suitable for the diameter of the pupil, alignment can be made easier in a case imaging an eye to be examined whose pupil has a large diameter and a good quality eyeground photograph having no flare or reflected beam mixed therein can be obtained.
