Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain purified acetylacetone from the bottom of a column, by adding acetic acid to a water-containing crude acetyl acetone reaction solution obtained by heat arrangement of isopropenyl acetate to maintain acetic acid at fixed concentration and feeding the reaction solution to a middle plate of the distillation column. CONSTITUTION:In heat rearrangement of isopropenyl acetate advantageous as production of acetylacetone, when a prepared crude acetylacetone reaction solution having >=1wt.% water content is purified, acetic acid concentration in the reaction solution is maintained at >=2wt.%, the reaction solution is fed to a middle plate 2 of a distillation column, continuously distilled, a low-boiling substance containing acetic acid is distilled from the top of the column, acetyl acetone is taken out from the bottom of the column by side cutting from a pipe 4 or as a mixed solution with a high-boiling substance from a pipe 6 (further acetylacetone is taken out from a pipe 8). Consequently acetylacetone is continuously purified.
