Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a power feed section from being damaged with a simple arrangement, by providing a voltage detecting device for detecting voltage on both power feed lines so that power feed to one of the power feed lines on which voltage is present is stopped before a pantograph collector bridges power feed sections. CONSTITUTION:When a short-circuit accident occurs on the power feed line 4 side, a d.c. breaker 7 is opened, and accordingly, the presence of voltage on a power feed line 5 is detected. Then, a power feed stopping signal is transmitted from a transmitting device 41 to a power station on the power feed line 5 side through a communication line 13a so that power feed is stopped. Further, when an electric car position detecting device 9 detects an electric car 3 approaching an energizing section 6, a control device 12 stops power feed from a power station on the power feed line through a communication line 13b. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent a power feed section from being damaged due to section-over without increasing the number of power feed sections and the number of d.c. breakers.
