Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the wear-resistant performance and eccentrically wear- resistant performance by setting the pitches of blocks in rows so that the pitches of blocks in a row near to the tread center are greater than that in a row near to the tread end side, and by making the block widths orthogonal to the lateral groove axis, substantially equal to each other. CONSTITUTION:The pitches PA of blocks in a row 17A near to the block center E side are set to be larger while the pitches PC of the blocks in a row 17C near to the block side end 12a are set to be smaller, the pitches being decreased from the center E to the side end 12a. For example, PA is set to 26mm and PC is set to 29mm. The block widths WA to WC of the blocks 16 in the direction orthogonal to the axes 18A to 18C of the lateral grooves 15A to 15C of the block rows 17A to 17C are set to be substantially equal to each other. With this arrangement, it is possible to enhance the wear resistance performance and the eccentrically wear resistance performance without the water drainage ability of the tire during high speed running and pattern noise being deteriorated.
