Abstract

PURPOSE:To change and correct an arbitrary part of information by re-encoding the reproducing information earlier than at least the interleaved code propagation length equivalent time from the time point to start the change and starting the re-recording to an original position. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing data string 61 reproduced by a preceding reproducing head precedes for an (l) data frame equivalent time more than a recording data string 68 supplied to a recording head, and the time difference is selected larger than the sum of a decoding time t1 of a decoder 62 and an encoding time t2 of an encoder 67. Consequently, for example, the data reproduced from a j-th data frame are decoded by the decoder 62, re-encoded by the encoder 67 and can be re-recorded to an original j-th data frame. After the interleaved code propagation length equivalent time or above passes, a switch 65 is fallen to an external side 65b, and thus, change and correction information 64 inputted from an external part can be replaced to previous information and the continuity of the recording data can be kept. Thus, an arbitrary part of the continuous digital information can be changed and corrected.
