CONSTITUTION:This plastic clad optical fiber (CS) 6 is constituted by providing the clad 2 consisting of the polyfluoroalkyl methacrylate on the core 1 consisting of multiple component glass to form the PCS 6, then providing the stress buffer layer 10 consisting of a silicone resin or urethane acrylate on the clad 2 and coating a coating layer 3 consisting of a thermoplastic resin such as nylon at need thereto. Namely, the projection 6A of the PCS 6 by a heat cycle test and the increase in the transmission loss are prevented by the combination of the hardness of the clad 2 made of the polyfluoroalkyl methacrylate and the hardness of the stress buffer layer 10.
