Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having excellent solubility in a solvent of low polarity, excellent compatibility with a resin of low polarity, and excellent heat resistance, by mixing a specified polyisocyanurate type polyisocyanate and a polyol not containing fluorine. CONSTITUTION:Hexamethylene diisocyanate is made to undergo cyclic trimerization at 20-160 deg.C in the presence of 10ppm-1.0% catalyst (e.g., tetramethylammonium) and a cocatalyst (e.g., ethylene glycol) to give a polyisocyanurate type polyisocyanate (A) having a viscosity of 1,600cP or lower at 25 deg.C in a state in which it contains neither a hexamethylene diisocyanate monomer nor a solvent, a cyclic isocyanurate trimer content of 60% or more, and a uretedione dimer content of 10% or less. Component A is mixed with a polyol (B) that does not contain fluorine and has at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule (e.g., a polyol having a hydroxyl number of the resin of 10-300 and a number-average molecular weight of 500-30,000) so as to provide an equivalent ratio of the isocyanato group of component A to the hydroxyl group of component B of 1.5-2:1.
