Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep lubricating oil from penetrating into an upper part from a displacer rod bearing by interconnecting an upper space of a crosshead to the inside of a power rod through a valve mechanism, and making the extent of mean pressure in the upper space relatively higher. CONSTITUTION:An interval between an upper part 35 of a crosshead and a space 36 in a power rod is interconnected to each other by a vent hole 32 provided with an oil mist separator case 33 and a valve plate 31. With check- valvate action by opening or closing of this valve plate 31, mean pressure in the crosshead upper space 35 becomes higher than that in a crankcase inside space 39. With this constitution, lubricating oil to be pumped up along a sliding surface 38 of a bearing 15 for a displacer rod 12 can be put back to each bottom of the crankcase inside space 39 and a crankcase 16 by dint of a pressure differential between both upper and lower spaces. Consequently, any penetration of the lubricating oil into a working space or the like is preventable.
