Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the quench state by providing a monitor superconductive wire near a superconductor and estimating the corresponding quench occurrence condition. CONSTITUTION:An electric insulator 2 is provided around a superconductor 1, an outer shielding body 3 is provided on its outer periphery, and a monitor superconductive wire 6 is closely formed around the outer shielding body 3. Since the critical condition of the monitor superconductive wire 6 has the critical temperature lower than that of the superconductor 1, if the signals calculated by a resistance value/pulse propagation characteristic measuring equipment 7 and a quench condition judging device 8 based on parameters of this critical condition tends to exceed the critical condition, a breaker operating circuit 9 is operated. When the monitor superconductive wire 6 exceeds the critical temperature even partially, it is detected, the load power of the superconductor of that channel is reduced or the circuit is switched or cut off to prevent the quench phenomenon.
