Abstract
PURPOSE:To highly advance the extent of accuracy in a work machining system by arranging a setup area, at least one unit of a fully-automatic type machine tool, a handling robot and an automatic measuring device in line. CONSTITUTION:First of all, a work is mounted and clamped on a pallet by an operator at a setup area 12, then it is transferred to a work conveying passage 20 by way of a conveying short passage 22a. This work is transferred to a machine tool 24b, by way of example, in conformity with a working program stored in a main controller. And, when it is machined according to the specified machining program at this machine tool 24b, it is refed to the conveying passage 20 through a conveying short passage 22c, and transferred to a robot 26. Next, it is subjected to preparatory handling for inspection of coolant washing, chip removal, cooling treatment, etc., by the robot. When this treatment is over, the work is once returned to the setup area 12. Then, the work is transferred to a three-dimensional measuring instrument 28 by way of the conveying passage again, and after measurement of size and form and a judgment of its acceptance or rejection are carried out hereat, the work is transferred to the setup area 12.
