Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a line change-over switch with a large scale at high speed, by controlling each group of the line change-over switches independently by a line switching controller. CONSTITUTION:A line signal to be inputted and outputted to/from a spare line terminal equipment 4 and a current in use line terminal equipment 3 is interfaced with the outside via the line change-over switch 2. The switch 2 is divided into plural groups, and they are connected to separate line switching controllers 1 corresponding to respective group. The line signal performs communication with an opposite station by the equipment 3 in an ordinary state, however, when abnormality is generated in a line current in use, the controller 1 detects the fact, and switches the line signal to the equipment 4 side by operating the switch 2. Thus, since the switch 2 in each group is controlled by plural controllers independently, it is possible to prevent the switching time of the line from being extended over an allowable value even when the number of line switches to be handled are increased.
