Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a fire-resistant floor material capable of greatly avoiding damage thereto and melting and discoloration thereof by a fire of tobacco, by blending a conventional liq. polymer compsn. with a specific inorg. compd. to prepare a liq. polymer compsn. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum hydroxide is incorporated into a hydroxylated liq. diene polymer (e.g., hydroxyl-terminated liq. polybutadiene), a polyisocyanate compd. (e.g., diphenylmethane diisocyanate) and a polyol compd. (e.g., N,N-bis-2- hydroxypropylaniline) to prepare a liq. polymer compsn. to serve as a fire- resistant floor material. The liq. polymer compsn. is used as the floor material in various ways of use, examples of which include (A) coating or spraying an already laid floor surface with the compsn., followed by curing thereof to form a coating film; (B) forming sheets from the compsn. and laying the sheets on an already laid floor; and (C) forming tiles from the compsn. and building a floor with the tiles. The resulting floor surface has such an excellent resistance to a fire of tobacco as to greatly avoid damage thereto and melting and discoloration thereof.
