Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method for inserting selvage yarns in a three-dimensional loom, capable of surely fastening and fixing the selvages to a cloth fell position in a non-loosing state substantially without damaging the selvages, wefts and warps by inserting the selvages at a place near to the cloth fell in a state that the selvage yarns are moved and lifted to the place near to the cloth fell with loop holders. CONSTITUTION: Wefts x, y are inserted into a warp group with warp-inserting tools 4, 5 at a warp-opened portion at the lower position of a cloth fell frame. For each movement of the weft insertion tools to a waiting position or a projected position, loop holders 21a, 21b, 24a, 24b hold the wefts x, y continued from a three-dimensional woven fabric to the warp-inserting tools and are raised to the approximately same positions as that of the cloth fell frame. Thereby, the wefts x, y are opened, and selvage yarn X1, Y1... are inserted at places near to the cloth fell. The wefts x, y are fastened to the places near to the cloth fell by the movement of the loop holders and the weft insertion tools, and warps are squeezed. The selvage yarn are fastened and fixed to the cloth fell position.
