CONSTITUTION:The objective compound is produced by treating a compound of formula I [R<5> is H, alkyl or R<8>B (R<8> is alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylthio, etc.; B is alkylene); R<6> is carboxyl-protecting group; R<7> is alkyl] with a base, reacting with carbon disulfide, reacting the reaction product with a compound of formula II (X is halogen; Ra<2> is H, alkyl, aralkyl or aryl; A is alkylene), treating the resultant compound of formula III with a halogenation agent to obtain a compound of formula IV (Y is halogen), cyclizing the compound in the presence of a base and, as necessary, removing protecting group from the groups R<5> and R<6>.
