Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily manufacture an anisotropic permanent magnet material, by subjecting a molten rare-earth element-iron-boron alloy to super rapid cooling to form an amorphous alloy, heat-treating the above alloy at low temp. in a magnetic field, and then applying heat treatment to the above in a magnetic or nonmagnetic field at a temp. in a crystallization temp. region. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy having a composition which consists of one or >=2 kinds of rare-earth elements composed principally of Nd, Fe, and B and in which a part of Fe is substituted by <=30% Co is poured onto a rapidly rotating water-cooled roll made of Cu to undergo super rapid cooling, by which a thin amorphous alloy film is prepared. This film is subjected to heat treatment in a magnetic field of >=5kilooersted at a temp. as low as 100-300 deg.C for >=2hr and then heated in a magnetic or nonmagnetic field up to a temp. of crystallization temp. or above, 600 deg.C, for >=1hr. This film is crushed, kneaded by means of a binder such as liquid epoxy resin, and press-compacted in a magnetic field, by which the anisotropic permanent magnet can be manufactured.
