Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the strength of a zeolite compact so as to prevent from degradation, to improve a heat resistance and a compression resistance so as to enable a usage under a high temperature and high pressure condition and also to make a regeneration easy by forming a zeolite compact with a zeolite and a nylon resin. CONSTITUTION:An activated zeolite is mixed with a nylon resin, heated and molded at about 230-300 deg.C to obtain a zeolite compact. A compounding ratio of the nylon resin is preferably 10-50% in weight. As for the zeolite, either a synthetic zeolite such as A-type, X-type, etc. or a natural zeolite such as mordenite are usable, but A-type is preferred for the purpose of drying a coolant. as for the nylon resin, nylon 6 nylon 66, nylon 610, etc. are preferable in view of toughness and heat resistance. The obtained zeolite compact can withstand a regeneration at 150-200 deg.C after absorbing moisture.
