Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain steroscopic image display by disposing a convex lens which can control a focus corresponding to each picture element to the front surface of a display, and changing the focus of the convex lens based on the distance information of each picture element so as to change the image-formation position of each picture element to the depth direction of the display. CONSTITUTION:The convex lenses which can control the focus are disposed to every picture element on the display surface side of the image display part, the focus of each lens is controlled based on the depth information to a point corresponding to each picture element measured by an image pick-up system side and the position where the real image or the visual image of each light emission element ocuures is controlled. Thus an observer feels as if each light emission element is disposed in the depth direction of the display part according to each distance of them and perceives an objective substance as a stereoscopic image as the result.
