Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the diagnosis of a fault of a thyristor switch without using any complicated circuit by providing a threshold value to a means detecting a differentiation waveform of a voltage applied to the thyristor switch in monitoring the failure by the said differentiation waveform. CONSTITUTION:A voltage across optical thyristors TH11', TH21' among two sets of optical thyristors connected in anti-parallel is detected by a resistor R1 and capacitors C1, C3 and a voltage across optical thyristors TH12', TH22' is detected by a resistor R21 and capacitors C2, C4. In such a case, the waveform of a current flowing to the circuit for the said detection is similar to the waveform differentiating the voltage between the thyristor terminals. When the voltage division of the capacitors C1, C3 or C2, C4 reaches the Zener voltage of a Zener diode, a detection signal flows to an LED and a monitor signal is sent.
