Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain composite powder capable of giving stable products as drugs, foods, cosmetics, coatings, etc., by calcining composite powder comprising metallic powder and powder consisting of water-swellable clay mineral to immunize the surface activity of the resulting powder. CONSTITUTION:For example, (A) an aqueous dispersion of water-swellable clay mineral with a concentration of 1-10wt.% is dispersed with (B) 0.1-100wt.% of one or more kinds of organic, inorganic and/or metallic powder (based on the whole composite powder) followed by spray drying and then calcination, thus obtaining the objective composite powder. This powder is suitable as filler because of giving high filling efficiency, and is outstanding in workability and dispersibility as a coating; also is excellent in applicability as a cosmetic.
