Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve reproducing characteristics and recording characteristics so that the characteristics extremely good as an information recording medium of an optical thermomagnetic recording type by forming a recording layer and reproducing layer of an alloy which has a specific compsn. and into which hydrogen is incorporated. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer 14 and the reproducing layer 13 are made of the alloy which contains the compsn. expressed by Mn1-x-yAxDy (A is at least one kind of the element selected from Al, Ga, In, Sb, Bi, Te, Se, Sn, Pb, and As; D denotes at least one kind of the element selected from Ge, Si, C, B, and P, 0.1<=x<=0.6, 0.1<=y<=0.6) and contains hydrogen. The recording layer 14 consists essentially of the crystalline alloy and the reproducing layer 13 of the amorphous alloy. The information recording medium which has the excellent recording characteristics and reproducing characteristics, has the high stability of the magnetic layer and is suitable for a magneto-optical memory having a high density and high sensitivity is thereby obtd.
