Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the repair of a dot defect by connecting the drain electrode of a thin film transistor TFT and the bus line of the next position by a transparent electrode and a thin metallic film connected in series to the transparent electrode and forming part of the thin metallic film of the single layer of the exposed thin metallic film thereby facilitating laser trimming at this part. CONSTITUTION:The drain electrode D of the TFT 4 and the scan bus line 1' of the next position are connected by the transparent electrode 8 consisting of a transparent conductive material essentially consisting of at least either of In2O3 or SnO2 and the thin metallic film 11 connected in series to the transparent electrode; in addition, the laser trimming base 9 exposed with part of the surface of the thin metallic film is provided. The line defect of the display is thereby added to the spot defect even if the shorting between the scan bus lines is generated. The repair of the spot defect is thus facilitated.
