Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an epoxy resin composition possessing both of high heat resistance and high toughness, by mixing a specified glycidyl compound with an epoxy resin and an epoxy resin curing agent and melting the mixture. CONSTITUTION:This epoxy resin composition comprises a glycidyl compound (A) of formula I (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each a C1-10 aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon group, n is an integer of 0-20, and X is H or a glycidyl group), an epoxy resin (B) and an epoxy resin curing agent (C). As said resin (B), an epi-bis epoxy resin or a glycidylamine epoxy resin is desirable. As said curing agent (C), an acid anhydride or a polyamine is desirable. The mixing ratio of said glycidyl compound A to said epoxy resin B can be selected from the range of 1:99-50:50 by weight.
