Abstract

PURPOSE:To restrain the vertical movement of the rear portion of a vehicle body without elevating the connection of a swing arm and the vehicle body by connecting the swing arm supporting a wheel to the vehicle body through two links and arranging each link so that specified requirements are satisfied. CONSTITUTION:The principal portions of a suspension device are constituted from a trailing arm (swing arm) 11, a plurality of lateral links 13, 15, 17 and shock absorber 19. The vehicle body side rear end of arm 11 is secured fixedly to a wheel support member 3 by a plurality of bolts 21. Then, the vehicle body side front end of arm 11 is connected to the vehicle body side member 7 through two links 23, 25, i.e. both upper and lower ends of respective links 23, 25 are connected respectively to the arm 11 and the vehicle body side member 7 through both upper and lower connections 27, 29, 31, 33. The respective links 23, 25 are arranged so that the upward extensions of respective axes of links cross each other at a position higher than the connection of arm 11 and respective links 23, 25.
