Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an odorless polymer outstanding in thermal stability, especially discoloration resistance, produceable through polymerization at even rate, by polymerization of vinyl chloride etc., using each specific two kinds of initiator. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer can be obtained by polymerization, pref. at 30-60 deg.C, of vinyl chloride monomer or its mixture with a second monomer copolymerizable therewith using an initiator consisting of (A) 2,5-bis (neodecanoylperoxy)-2,5-dimethyl-3-hexyne and (B) at least one kind of compound with the temperature at which the half life in the form of the benzene solution of 0.1mole concentration is 10hrs. ranging from 40 deg.C to 65 deg.C, selected from peroxyesters, diacylperoxide, and peroxydicarbonate. The amount of said initiator to be added is pref. 0.01-2pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. of the vinyl chloride monomer charged for the component A, while 1/4-4wt. times the component A for the component B.
