Abstract

PURPOSE:To make responsiveness to a light signal better and to enable recording to be performed at high speed, by a method wherein a recording electrode and a high voltage applying first electrode which are connected by a photoconductive insulating material are constructed so as to have parts opposed to each other along a length direction to form a gap. CONSTITUTION:After vapor deposition of Cr metal on a substrate 2 by, for instance, vacuum deposition, a high voltage applying first electrode 5 and a recording electrode 6 are formed by etching in a pattern so as to have parts 5a, 6a opposed to each other along a lengthwise direction to form a crank state gap 20, and both electrodes 5, 6 are connected via a photoconductive insulating material 7. Besides, a high voltage applying second electrode 10 is connected to the recording electrode 6 via ink 11 as a fixed resistor, and a light signal corresponding to recording information is directed onto the photoconductive insulating material 7 impressing a high voltage between the electrode 5 and the electrode 10. Thereby, an electric potential of the recording electrode 6 is changed, and the ink is moved toward a back face electrode 15 opposed to an ink jet nozzle 4 via a recording paper 16. Then, ink picture dots corresponding to the recording information are formed on the recording paper 16.
