Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a solid of a desired form, by a method wherein solidified material layers are laminated one after another by repeating a process where a liquid material is solidified in a thin and stratified state forming into a desired solid cross-sectional form. CONSTITUTION:When laser rays 8 through a laser ray irradiation device 7 are applied to a desired part (a part corresponds to a cross section of a solid to be produced) out of a thin layer 4a of a liquid material on a platform 6, only the said part is cured. Then the surface of the liquid material 4 within a vessel 1 is raised by supplying the liquid material 4 further into the vessel 1 through a pump 3 and the thin layer 4a of the liquid material of the same thickness as the first thin layer 4a is formed on the upper part of a cured part 4b of the material 4. When the laser rays 8 are applied similarly to the desired part of the surface of the liquid material 4 through the laser ray irradiation device 7, a surface layer of the liquid material 4 is cured in the said part and connected with a cured part 4b which has been formed already. When the thin layers of the cured part 4b are laminated one after another by performing this operation repeatedly, a solid of an arbitrary form can be formed on the platform 6.
